KAL DRAKO

Kal Drako is a studio and touring drummer who spent a long time in Los Angeles and Athens, which was where he was born. Kat started learning classical piano at the age of 7 in Athens.. As a 14-year-old he started drumming. Blessed with teachers who immediately recognized his musical talent, he spent most of his time as a teenager at his drum kit and performing with local rock bands.

Kal moved to Los Angeles in 1999 for his studies at the L.A. Music Academy. The local teachers enriched Kal's musical direction and perspective. After his return to Greece a year later, Kal's career began in the studio and live performances with numerous successful artists. He toured Greece, Cyprus, Europe and the USA. He also remained very close to the jazz scene. He was hired for appearances and studio recordings with many well-known Greek jazz musicians.

In 2004, Kal moved to Los Angeles, where he lived and worked for six years. There he got the opportunity to work with some of his favourite artists, such as Regie Dozier (Jamiroquai), Phillip Giffin (Hollywood producer / writer), Mike Tucci (Metallica, Pearl Jam), Brian Hardin, Nick Mancini, Mike Laundau, Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai's Band ), Mike Miller (Chick Corea's Band), Eric Sittner, Hamilton Price, Cory Philips, Karisa Winnett, Robbie Angelucci, Derek Frank, Andrew Synoweic, Andrew Cambell, Chris Roy, Noush Skaugen, Frank Fontaine, Sad Girl feat. "Shrek" scriptwriter Tommy Swerdlow, Theo Saunders, Diego Langtry, Yanni Markoulakis, Ken Chan, The Evren Edler Band, Emir Isilay, Amberside, award-winning violinist Antonio Pontarelli, Viva la Union feat. actor John Cho and many others.

Kal Drako was also featured on the award-winning NBC show ''Brothers and Sisters''.

Kal moved back to Athens in 2010 to record his first solo album as a singer.
